My dear mother (RIP) was from WAY Upstate

Born in Black Brook, NY not far from Peasleeville which is not far from Peru which is a few miles from Plattsburgh which is about ten miles from the Canadian border. She used to milk the cow and hated it. In the morning, her father would take her to school early so he could get the stove going before the teacher and kids got there. Then he'd go off to work. Her mother was also a teacher and the local healer. Since she could read, people would come by for financial and legal assistance. They'd also come to her to get medicinal recipes from her family's healing book.
